Biography

Wennie Chin (she/her) is your (a)typical ABC. Born in New York, Wennie spent her first two years of life catching frogs sans shoes in the farms of Taishan before returning stateside.

Wennie is a native Cantonese speaker by way of drama over-consumption. Self-described as a 1.25 Chinese American, Wennie has found particular interest in her native tongues and seeks to preserve and promote linguistic diversity within the Asian American diaspora.

Wennie has previously taught Cantonese at NYU and holds a BA in Politics and Asian American History from NYU. When not teaching Chinese, she works at a non-profit serving immigrant New Yorkers. Wennie is also fluent in Taishanese and Mandarin and currently working on her Spanish .
